Linking between related articles on your site will help you build trust, expertise and authority. Each page your visitor reads can build on your persuasive content, nudging visitors to click on your affiliate links.
Your Publisher-For-You website has an excellent navigation system built into it, but you should plan on adding some extra links to help your visitors and maximize your income as well.
Pages can be hidden from search engines if the linking is done in a way that they cannot read. This is the case in some navigation scripts and is why I add internal linking of my own.
[Side note: on Publisher-For-You sites, there is a link to an automatically-generated Site Map on every page.]
Also, if a website has image-based navigation, the navigation is spiderable but search engines still can't see what the image is, so you don't gain any authority.
Relevancy needs to be created between your articles to achieve authority, and that can't happen if the search engines can't read your links.
It's like the spiders can see the doors but can't tell what's behind them.
But you can plan to succeed with search engines and visitors. Every webpage you create needs a plan - a goal or purpose. Then you need to map it out.
Your plan will be like a string of breadcrumbs, leading your website visitors from one page to the next until they take your desired action. Whether you want them to subscribe to something, bookmark your site, or click on affiliate links, you have to focus and execute.
You can place text links to other relevant articles in the content of your page or you can include "Relevant Articles" links at the bottom of the articles like I did on this webpage. Each page should also have a link right to the product on the merchant's site, something like this sentence with a link at the bottom of every article on this website:
"If you can point and click, and fill out a form, you can build yourself a website just like this one! Earn $75 commission for each referral."
On Publisher-For-You sites, you also have the "Powered by Publisher-For-You" button at the bottom of every page. This button is automatically linked to your affiliate id when you become an affiliate.
Bottom line: cross-linking between the pages of your website lets both the search engine spiders and your visitors know about the depth of information on your website.
The more information on your website, the more both of these types of visitors will value each article on your website.
Value = trust, expertise, and authority. Then you will see your conversions from traffic to income increase.
